Frequently Asked Questions

Community Participation (also called Social and Community Participation) is NDIS-funded support that helps you take part in community, social, and recreational activities. It covers a wide range of activities — from attending a local sports club to visiting a museum, joining a class, or volunteering.

Almost any activity that helps you connect with your community and pursue your goals. Common examples include outings to cafes, parks, and events; attending fitness or art classes; visiting friends and family; accessing libraries or community centres; and participating in employment-readiness programs.

Support workers can provide transport to and from activities as part of your community participation support. Transport costs (such as vehicle running costs) may be billed separately depending on your plan. We'll be transparent about any additional costs.

Absolutely. Your goals and interests drive everything. We work with you to identify activities that are meaningful to you and build a schedule that reflects your preferences, availability, and what you want to achieve.

Yes. We offer both individual (1:1) and group community participation. Group activities can be a great way to build social connections and try new experiences alongside others.

Community Participation is funded under the "Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation" support category in your NDIS plan. Your Support Coordinator or LAC can help confirm what funding is available and how it can be used.
